Wet Felting – Contemporary Tealight Pot Workshop (10th October 2026)

In this workshop, you can discover the ancient tradition of wet felting but with a contemporary twist. You will be guided to make your very own, personally designed and unique pots, reflecting your own colour choices and surface decoration. Add battery-operated tealights to create a beautiful warm and cosy glow this autumn.

Using handmade balls as a resist, you will lay beautiful soft merino wool fibres over the ball, and then add embellishments of silk and banana fibres to create your own unique designs. You will be shown how to felt the fibres, before removing the ball to reveal your pot. Once you have learnt the techniques you can go on to create another. I will also show you how to put holes in your pot to allow more light to shine through (optional).

They can be used for display, storage or make them glow with battery-operated tea lights. Working with so much colour is a delight. They also make great presents.

This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with more experience. All materials provided including battery-operated tealights.
