A variation of crochet that holds multiple stitches on your hook, similarly to knitting. Combining aspects of both crafts, this craft creates a lovely dense fabric. No knowledge of either knitting or crochet is needed to learn tunisian crochet.
Yarn and hooks will be provided for this workshop, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. For this workshop, while just learning the basic technique, we will be using normal straight 4mm crochet hooks, and acrylic DK yarn.
Tunisian crochet requires a straight crochet hook, without a thicker handle. Specialised Tunisian crochet hooks are often longer than ‘normal’ crochet hooks, and may be double-ended, have a cable for added length, or a stopper on the end to prevent stitches falling off the hook. The differences between these will be demonstrated during the class.
