Learn to make these easy wind spinners and leaves to add some dynamic decoration to your garden. A simple way to reinforce pattern reading for beginners, and an experiment in creating shaping using a variety of basic stitches.
You will need to bring your own yarn and matching hooks for this workshop. Choose a yarn that you are comfortable working with, and can easily identify your stitches. Fluffy or textured yarns will make it harder to see your stitches as you’re working them.
I recommend using a cotton yarn, for the rigidity of the finished product. My sample used scraps of an aran-weight cotton yarn, with a new colour for each row.
A dk-weight cotton yarn, such as Ricorumi DK 25g available in the shop, would also work well and has many colours to choose from without the need to buy many full-sized yarn balls.
