Event Type

Level 2 – For those who know their basic stitches and want to learn something new.

Learn this unique stitch that creates a stunning lacy texture. Broomstick lace crochet works wonderfully for scarves or blankets that want an elegant and airy drape.

You will need to bring along your own yarn and appropriate hook for this workshop. Yarn thickness or material does not matter for learning the skills in this workshop. Choose a yarn that you are comfortable working with, and can easily identify your stitches. Fluffy or textured yarns will make it harder to see your stitches as you’re working them. You can use a solid coloured yarn, variegated, or use multiple colours to create stripes by changing yarn after each row. Unless you want to work with multiple colours, you won’t need more than one ball of yarn for this class.

This stitch also requires a singular large knitting needle (15mm or larger). You can bring your own, which will mean you can continue working on your project after the workshop. A suitable knitting needle will be provided for the duration of the workshop for those who don’t have their own.

If you’d like advice on which yarn to purchase to use in this workshop, please arrive a few minutes early and advice can be given in the shop.
